Think I made a mistake…

August 5th, 2016

I ran combofix to help get rid of some malware that snuck its way into my computer, and I selected all the things it said I could fix. now things like windows sidebar, the touchpad on my laptop and even the notification when I turn the volume up or down are non-existent. is there anyway to restore what I screwed up?
Answer #1
Yeah go find the brand of your pc and download the drivers, if that doesn’t work do a system restore. If all else fails install a new OS
Answer #2
That malware you had attached itself to a lot of things, thatch why after you removed those infect items, functions on your comp stooped working. Easy fix and least painful is just reformat, try to backup data that you have.
Hard fix is try to re enable those functions that don’t work.
If something would happen to me like that, I will just reformat.
Answer #3
that’s what I was thinking, but I don’t have a copy of the OS. it’s Vista and it came pre-installed, wouldIbe able to re-install it still? or not?
Answer #4
it should have a recovery partition or something that would restore it to the original point…
Answer #5
