August 23rd, 2013
I need help with me Sony Vaio VGN-CS110E
This laptop start like a week ago start shutdown more and more often.
Step already did it
1. I already did factory defaults.
2. Change compund of processor and video chip
3. Clean Fan. (This fan make a lot noise sometimes)
But why in Safe Mode this laptop never turn off.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Generally if a computer has a problem in normal mode but not safe mode it’s a driver issue, or at least caused bya program that loads normally but not under safe mode. Tha fact that it doesn’t seem to happen under safe mode would indicat it’s a Windows error not a hardware problem
The first place to look in in the event logs which can be found in the control panel under administrative tools. You’ll probably only wantthe system and application logs. Look down them for the red marked ones and theye may point you in the right direction. Don’t just stopr at the first ones you see but look for repetitions of these errors.
if feel like it’s getting hot when it shuts down ?
But why in Safe Mode this laptop never turn off.
grfx are less demanding
I agree with edwoodweb,
it could be an overheating issue. are you sitting the laptop on anything that might cover the vents/fans?
Do clarify,By shutdown you mean it shuts off completely or restarts? A lot of ppl get the two confused,And I have my doubts
that it truly shutdowns as you cleaned the fan & applied new paste.
Install IntelBurnTest and run the program for 30-60min. If it shuts down then your laptop overheats. I know you said you cleaned the fans but hoovering is impossible to take the dust out. You have to remove the cover where the heat sink is and then clean.
