Sony tv automatically turn on sky help!

Hi. I need some help when I turn my tv on as it doesn’t automatically turn on the Sky And how do I set it to come on automatically on av6 on a Sony Bravia tv?

How is “the Sky” attached to the TV – HDMI?
If so, you need to turn the Sky on first then it will tun the TV on – HDMI activation seems to only work that way around (for me, at least)
Otherwise the TV would turn on everything attached to it – bluray/game console/sky – all at once. So the device activates the TV, not the other way around.
Newer TV’s might be dofferent – my Sony is about 4 years old.

With one Sony I have, you can turn on the TV and have it turn on the devices you select in the setup.

Cool – they must have updated that facility (I see you said “devices you select” – very handy).
My TV is a 55″ Sony, Australian (sadly with hard coded firmware to oz, and I’m in the UK now and it shows all the EPG times 8 hours out of whack!!)
KDL55EX500 , about 4 years old.
Unless the question wasn’t to me.
Still – interestign that they have added some function from the TV.

the sky is attached through av6 so when the tv comes one I have to get it on to av6 and I want it to come on automatically.

My TV turns on to whatever it was tuned off on – If I watch a bluray and turn it off then it starts on the bluray hdmi input.

Again, what Sony model do you have?
Functions are different for Bravia models.
