[SOLVED]Full Size desktop case recommendation

August 1st, 2016

I am looking for a really nice full size desktop case for a new pc build using the new hardware that is now out.
1-4th Gen Intel CPU’s
2-X99 Motherboards
3-DDR4 RAM
4-Nvidia 980 video cards
etc
I have an idea of what I would like for the parts (not finalized), but I have not found a case that looks and has
the features of an awesome case.
Do any of you have a personal choice in mind? and why?
Or do any of you recommendion for a awesome case?
This case must have a side window and fan. Thanks for any replies

check out the Carbide Series 500R
Optimize airflow and keep your system neat and tidy using the intelligent cable management system.
Removable hard drive cages for optimum GPU airflow and to accommodate GPUs up to 452mm in length
Mesh side pa can accommodate two 120mm or 140mm fans, or included 200mm fan for outrageous cooling potential.
Built-in multi-chan fan controller for optimal cooling adjustability.
Front pa includes USB 3.0, Headphone, Mic, multi-chan fan controller, and an LED on/off switch.
Built-in compatibility for SSDs in the six hard drive bays gives you the flexibility you need.
Install or upgrade your CPU heatsink quickly with the easy-access backplate cutout.
Keep your system cool with up to 10 fan mount locations (four 120mm, six 120mm/140mm)
I’ve used this for a few builds and it hasn’t disappointed.

Has anyone any experience with Thermaltake? This has the size, and I like the features
Thermaltake Chaser Series Chaser MK-I (VN300M1W2N) Black SECC ATX Full Tower Computer Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133191&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL090914&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL090914-_-EMC-090914-Index-_-ComputerCases-_-11133191-L09D

I recently used Thermaltake (not that exact model though but very similar) to build a dual CPU system with liquid cooling. Was very impressed with it’s overall quality. Very sturdy and well built. The front and top were just held in by snaps but it was also a good quality where it didn’t rattle either with fans at max. Had just enough room to mount 2 small radiators in the top portion with only a simple modification to allow room for the lines.

i just wrote a very long message and just saw u bought the case before i sent it , lol since u bought the case there is no need for argument about it. i can say for motherboard http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_V_EXTREME/
it is currently best x99 board in every terms but expensive as you imagine , if you are looking for less profile motherboard , almost all brands are same , but i prefer asus always in terms of material quality.
after you build you system , can you test if games can benefit and utilize all 8 core and threads of cpu , cuz i saw at many benchmarks 5960X falls behind devil’s canyon which has 1/3 price of it. ofc this is only for games. and if there is someone who tested 5960x with games , i would like to hear performance of it at games
Edit : also if anyone was able to bought asus gtx980 strix , can tell me where did u find it ? i cant find it anywhere , all other custom cooled gtx980 are out , except asus. it makes me wonder if there is problem with their product

for what I read, gaming wont be that much difference with 5960X. Here is the USA, the new hardware: RAM, Video Cards are out of stock many times. Especially the Video cards. Because demand is so high, don’t know if I will see a price reduction I am hoping for. Waiting for our
Black Friday where we have some of the lowest retail for the year at retailers. Early December I am expecting to wrap up the purchase of my targeted parts.
Answer #18
ofc gaming is almost same with 4790k and 5960x , for some games 4790k slightly better for some 5960x . ofc 5960x far better for other things. and for the asus gtx 980 strix , it never entered stock , thats the problem , all others entered stock and sold. so if you hear a problem about asus 980 , pls tell it here . as far as i know , first production series evga gtx 980 have a problem with heat pipes , and zotac gtx 980 extreme edition has voltage limit problem capped at 1.2v , dunno if they can fix it through bios , keep these in mind while buying the gpu . first production series of new things always problematic thats why i m suspicious
Answer #19
This is the video card on my parts list:
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0
I have to wait to see if any price changes between now and Thanksgiving
