*********** ORIGINAL POST ***********
Greetings guys,
I finally bought BF3 today and It has just been installed, but my problem is that it crashed just a few seconds before I lauch the singleplayer mode.
What I have tried:

    1. Update ALL drivers
    2. Remove my 360 controller
    3. set ALL setting to the LOWEST with everything set to OFF/disabled
    4. Disable my 2nd monitor completly (unplugging it so it isn’t connected)
    5. Reinstalled origin & the game
    6. Virus-scanned using AVG
    7. Disabled my 5 harddrives so only C: is connected
    8. Disabled my Razor Megalodon headset (it is using it’s own sound-driver).

UPDATE:

I tried to remove my savegames and begin from a new start. I can still get past the train level but as soon as the troops leaves the vehicle they are in, the game turns BLACK as night. I can still hear the enviroment around me but everything is pure black. I just updated my graphic-card again but, without success.

UPDATE 2:

I reinstalled the game again, I was now able to exit the vehicle from the 2nd. level with my squard, but as soon as we reached the table and was given our command/objective, the game frooze and the black screen appeard.
    – It also happens during Multiplayer
    – My installationfolder does NOT have the “TM” in it: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3

UPDATE 3:

By quicktly tapping out of the game when the Black Screen appears, I noticed an error message telling me this:
Display Driver stopped resonding and has recovered
Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernal Mode Driver, Version 285.62 stopped resonding and hags successfully recovered.

UPDATE 4:

    1. I installed the latest beta driver from Nvidia (285.79)
1a. I choosed to “Install clean installation”
    1b. I disabled 3D support
1c. I disabled the high-quality Audio (I dont remember what it was called).

UPDATE 5:

I checked if my GPU was overheating and it reached 56C before crashing

My computer spec.:

Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit – Updated fully
    Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3 – Latest Driver
Intel Core i7-2600k – Latest Driver
    8GB DDR3 1200mhz RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 560Ti – Latest Driver
    (Directx 11 – Latest driver)

Main monitor: 26″ – 1920x1200px.
2nd Monitor: 19″ – 1280x1024px.

And still, the game fails to run more than a few seconds. I have not found any solutions yet so, any suggestions is more than appreciated! And remember, no answer is stupid, so if you want to make absoluty sure about something, just ask, even if it is “Did you make sure to turn on your PC first?” hehe.
Cheers guys,
Mike
Answer #1
is your gpu overheating ?
Answer #2
I’m not sure how to check that mate. But it doesnt make any loud noises.
Answer #3
Okay I checked, my GPU increased to 56C using Evga Precision software.
I read online that it’s a “normal” temperature?
I’ve been waiting 19 hours for a reply on EA’s forum (I’m on page 11), so I doubt they will help me hehe.
Answer #4
thats a fine temperature.
what about ur motherboard do all the temps look ok for that ? (45C or below should be fine for that)

You need to downclock that videocard, a bit you can use with MSI Afterburner for that.

Cheers mate,
You wan’t me to downgrade my GPU? Why would I do that to play the game, wouldn’t the developers have made sure that every gfx card can run it?
Answer #8
Hm… i read about there is BIOS fix for that, go to the site of video card manufacturer, look for your model, and at downloads choose BIOS,and look what is there. It should be some fix, what is fixing this crashes. If you cant find it, provide me manufacturer+ model exaclty which you have, and gonna look into. Before was some fix, which was to downclock the OC-d videocard to dont crash. EA/DICE doesnt really care about ur hardware is it good or not.

Cheers mate,
My GFX is from Gigabyte (geforce 560ti) but I am unable to find any link for “bios flash”, could you possibly help me out with that? It would mean a bunch to me.
But I read that, flasing your bios is very dangerous for your system/motherboard, is that correct?
Answer #10

Cheers mate,
I’ve been looking through the page and wondering what GPU I have, because honestly I don’t know. I downloaded Cpu-Z but all it shows me is:

    Name: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560ti
    Revision A1
    Core, shaders, memory and size

I don’t have the box for the gfx so I look a look at the card itself but, I couldn’t find anything that represented the products on the page you refer to.

try with AIDA/Everest or look into your computer case and see how it looks like, but would be nice if you could look with everest.

Simply by looking more close to the images I could see that the gfx card I have is:
