Software for drawing message frame

August 13th, 2013

I’m looking for a good tool for drawing network data frames in my thesis. I’ve tried Visio, EDraw, Inkskape and loads of other ones to be honest which are full of features for drawing everything I want except for this.
This is the sort of thing I’d like to be able to draw easily, as I’ll have to do it a lot:

I’ve Googled for hours and can find tools to draw UML diagrams, network topology diagrams, stateflow diagrams etc but not this type of diagram.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is the ‘sequence diagram’ feature of Modelio and ArgoUML similar to what you require?

Thanks, they look like they can do it, but I was hoping for something as simple as Visio. First time I created a UML diagram in that it only took me a few minutes. I really can’t afford the time it would take me to learn to use those programs.
I don’t mind if I have to download a massive suite that has the feature!
Thanks anyway.
