Skyrim shouts… Wrong instructions given.. please help

October 18th, 2013

Hi.
In Skyrim instructions it says press ‘z’ to shout..
yep , that works..
BUT NOWHERE does it tell how to combine shouts.
For example, when learning to combine the Word of power from borri with my original shout, i had to Guess how to do it.
I had to press ‘z’ & ‘x’ at same time.
That royally sucks.. And was just a lucky guess.
However, the next shout I need to learn is the whirlwind shout..
And ive no idea how to activate it.
Please help.
Am I dumb, Or is skyrim’s instruction manual incomplete?
Makes me think I should have stole the game instead of actually buy it.

No
It makes no difference..
It wotn give me any other shouts apart from my original one.. no matter if i hold it down for 1 second, or ten minute
it doesnt work
Answer #3
Press “Tab”, go to magic, then shouts, then select the one you want to use. Right now I only have the first shout and the whirlwind. I think you have to find those “word walls” where the shouts are written (normaly in caves or other instances) and then you have to kill random dragons in other to be able to completely use them. Here is a brief explanation from IGN:

you need to change your shout to 1 that has more power. it does work with my controller. so your doing something wrong
Answer #5
You just press z longer for the more powerful version, thats it. Of course you have to select the shout from the magic menu first.
Answer #6
Highlight the shout you wish to unlock and press F to spend dragon souls on it. It costs one soul per word. You need to find the word on a dragon wall before you can unlock it (they are spread all over skyrim)
