Skype will not let add contacts

August 6th, 2016

Skype is a very bad company, they have blind monkeys working for there technical supports. My girlfriend laptop will not let her add contacts. I follow everything I can find on the guides, I reset the Internet Exploder settings, I reinstall skype, but she still can no add contacts. I try email tech support, but maybe my english is too bad to understand. I am leaving for work in 4 days and it will be nice if I can fix this problems before. Has anyone have this problem in skype? Any solutions?
Thank you

Please gentlemens. I am leaving my girl for a while to go to my job, and I need to keep in touch with her. I am able to try anything you suggested to me.

There’s nothing wrong with “my” Skype, if you can’t add contacts, then it’s an issue on your end. Your doing something wrong.
Why can’t you add people?? Are you getting an error?? Some screenshots would be nice, so that we can see what you are doing and where it’s going wrong.
Log into Skype
Go to Contacts (Top tool bar)
Go to Add Contact
Enter the details of the person that you want to add (email address / skype name etc)
Once the search is complete locate the correct one
Click Add contact
Send Request.
No idea why something so simple isn’t working for you.
Like I said, supply some more information, screenshots of what goes wrong, and error messages??

There is no error, no message, no nothing. When we go to click on “Add Contact” in this menus,
Image
A pop-ups open, just like always, there are two arrow that spin for 10-15 second, and than it is blank screen. No option to find anybody, no option to search, it just blank screen

Have you tried re-installing Skype?
Answer #5
Sounds like a corrupted profile. Delete the Skype folder from the application data directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data (XP)
C:\Users\User\Appdata\Roaming (Vista/Win7)

Should do the trick.

I really think this was going to work, I did, restart computer after, but no change. Thank you very much gentlemens, I am leaving for my tour of duty. I have occasional access to web, depends where they send me, maybe I keep looking back and see if anyone else has suggestion.

Just throwing some ideas out there:
– Try compatibility mode when running Skype
– Try running Skype as admin
Answer #9
Have the same issue. As long as both add each other it works but no pop up if one adds so you can allow.

You could try the portable version:
http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/skype_portable
These are not strictly for flash drives on the go. You could just install it wherever and create
a desktop shortcut!
