RTMPE downloading/capturing video…
August 18th, 2013
I’ve been trying to download/capture a video….
I’ve tried using url sniffers, Replay Media Catcher, Orbit, DownloadHelper (Firefox)…nothing is caught. I’ve also tried capturing the video with SnagIt and DownloadStudio, but it just makes the video jerky while it’s capturing.
I know Replay is supposed to detect RTMPE, but it’s not.
Do any of you know how I can get this thing?! I’ll give you the url, but I think it’s only viewable within Canada, which is why I’m trying to save it to my computer…so some friends outside the country can see it.
Any help is very much appreciated!!!

I’ve changed this question quite a bit, as I’ve now figured out what I’m dealing with is RTMPE.
Getflv will download them
GetFLV should download RTMPE, but you need to use their in-line web browser, you cany copy and paste URLs, and it’s not really accurate (it downloaded a certian family guy episode in “lowest” quality with no option for others, while jakasta gives others, but it has copy protection).
There’s also TubeDigger that works a lot like it, and can detect other video sizes, but it’s not perfect, can’t copy URLs, and it actually crashes everytime i download that same family guy episode. Sadly RTMP is an niche protocol, not many good software support it, and even less support it well.
Add an useful, elaborate and on-topic comment next time.
