Root a tablet

i have an iconia tablet a500/501 16g and im new to this concept of rooting an android base OS system what are the benefits to this, programs that i can use to do it… plz just looking for honest answer thx

I used z4root just out of curiosity on my tablet and it worked like a charm..
The benefits is that there is a lot of handy software that needs rooting to work..Like backup software that need access to the root files…

I don’t bother rooting, my a500 does what I want it to do without anything special done to it.
Rooting carries risks; bricking it tablet, updates not working, and the temptation to change things (that were blocked before the rooting) that kill the tablet (deleting something important).
Rooting will allow you to have more functionality and you can run programs like Titanium Backup (which backs up programs and the tablet OS).

Before you root, go there and have a read up – note that most there will tell you to go ahead and root, but they are mostly fanois
