Ripping tv shows

I struggle ripping tv shows because they either rip as 1 file , and not the 4 – 5 episodes from a disk
What is the best way to rip tvshows on dvd to split the episodes?

I was using makemkv to rip the dvds but they show all episodes as 1 file rather then separate episodes that you can rip
also use handbreak too
