Repairing MBR via USB flash drive
August 14th, 2013
I’m wondering, how can use a 64 MB USB flash drive to repair the MBR without any access to the Recovery Console from a Windows disc, and no access to Windows?
I do have a spare USB external hard drive, but my Windows disc is back in my home state. Otherwise, I would just make an ISO of it, install it to the external hard drive and connect, boot, and repair MBR.
Also, this is a Windows XP machine, so I cannot use any of the files off of here to put to a bootable USB drive. I’ve researched for the past 9 or 10 hours to no avail. Everything either requires an ISO of Windows 7 or a larger flash drive.
Also, am I searching incorrectly or is there a severe lack of Windows OS images on the forum? I would download one to make up for my lack of DVD but I can’t find a single image for any operation system on the forum here.
Thank you much in advance.
