remove bundled tools from installers

August 6th, 2016

poweriso installer contains bundled softwares .. i want to unpack the installer to remove these bundled tools then pack as a new installer so how to accomplish that??
Answer #1
Is that really needed? Can’t you just uncheck that you want to install the bundled software?
You can open and extract some installers with WinRar. Repacking (in it’s most basic form) is also possible with WinRar. Check the link below.

Edit: Don’t be scared about the malware part, it’s just an example

I don’t know about repacking, but I ALWAYS use “universal extractor” on games and apps.
It works about 80% of the time and has saved me from a few hidden viruses (they get unpacked and then caught).
It also allows you to delete add-ons and tracking browser toolbars.
It also allows you to make portables – just the unpacked application files..

It is just an extraction tool.
Work in reverse – instead of finding viral/toolbar files, find ONLY the files PowerIso needs to run, move them out to a new folder and winrar that folder to a self extracting exe file. You can even tell it to self-extract to a specific (new) folder
Then you’ll have a sort-of install file.
Like this:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/27alqnc65dbz/PowerISO5-x64_exe
Everything works BUT virtual mount of images (I don’t know enough to install the device driver – it’s in there if anyone else can do it).
…..
anyway:
This “Power.Software.PowerISO.v5.4.Incl.Keygen-Lz0\PowerISO5-x64\$TEMP/safeguard.exe” is the toolbar program
Delete that and it’s safe.

EDIT:
I managed to install the device driver, but non eof the serials “stick” – they have to be re entered everytime you start the program, so there’s no point in me uploading my finished thing.
The serials work when you put them in but need to be redone every start up = pointless.
If anyone ever works out a proper serial, I have the files to install the dev driver.

try that with the internet disabled.. it may be calling home to the registration server. it’s an improper crack if that is not disabled.

Good point. It probably checks when it starts up.
It’s a sneaky thing – you enter the key and it says all Ok.
Then disable update checks (I always do that).
When you restart the program it says unregged and wants the key again (same key = all Ok, weird!).
Answer #9
Have you tried checking the registry for the serial to see if its being deleted.
I got no issues with poweriso but have blocked their website

Yes – I always monitor installations and such with Total Uninsatall.
I exported the registry changes to allow a semi-portable version to be made and have the sys driver still work.
The reg files showed the key there – i think it checks on starting the program.
…..
It doesn’t matter all that much really – I was only trying PowerIso to see if I could make a semi-portable version without adware for the OP.
I stopped bothering about it when this key issue came up – it’s just not worth all the faffing about when there are other equally good programs (magicIso, for one) that are no trouble at all.
