real player not working

Hi
Like a week ago now i was watching dbz episodes on my real player because they .rm and .rmvb format and now my realplayer wont even open and ive uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and when that didnt work i got a .rm codec for my winamp and that worked for like a day or 2 then that died and now i cant play .rm or .rmvb on my computer even with another program.
what do i do, kaspersky didnt detect anything comming in whats wrong??

Try removing all codec packs you have on your computer and reinstalling a new one. Also try a player such as Real Alternative or Media Player Classic. Also, what do you mean when you say it doesn’t work. Do the programs give you some sort of error or something?

no program doesnt give error or anything i click on link to open real player it doesnt load at all, no nothing. and how do you remove all codecs and whats a good codec pack that runs .rms as well

You’ve installed codecs so either use the inbuilt Add/Remove programs feature of use a software such as Your Uninstaller which you can get on the forum. Then install a codec pack. I like K-Lite Mega Codec pack. You can get it here:

thanks if that helps with the player problem but what can i do about realplayer not loading at all???
btw when i installed the codecs it said something about DirectShow components not working in registry??

Well, I can think of a few reasons why the program won’t work. Try these things and see if they work:
1. Click on Start–>My Computer(right click)–>Properties–>Advanced–>Settings (under performance)–>Advanced–>Change. There set your PF to a higher value.
2. Go to your temp folder and clean out all the unneeded stuff from there.
Try to run the app again and see if it works. Good luck mate^^

ok i installed that codec and it cant run .rm it said general error and it runs .rmvb but only the sound no video and i tried to uninstall realplayer cause codec told me to and it wouldnt so i shift+del the folder and cleaned the registry with tune-up pro and yea still not working wtf is wrong with it??? virus, spyware???

ok i went through my whole registry manually and removed everything realplayer and reinstalled the codec and now real alt works. thanks for help guys oh and dita the files are only like 30-40mb and im running xp home (vista sucks)

Njoy DBZ i have the whole trilogy 60-100MB RMVB, it rox. DBZ 4 ever!
