Pay attention music

Hi guys,
I’m trying to mix some songs to play in my friend’s party, I’m looking for “pay attention introduction music” that I want to put in the beginning so I take everybody’s attention before I play the songs.
do you have any suggestions?

Are you looking for a good intro song, or a whole playlist?
What type of party/people? That will determine the genre of music.
For normal parties I would go with some good, quality Dubstep.
If it was for my hippie friends, I would do a solid mix of Indie music.

I’m just looking for intro music not a song. and the party is for a friend getting engaged.

If you are intro-ing a DJ led session, try something totally out of sync with the people –
What about a blast of the 1812 Overture for 10 seconds or less, then say “Well, that’s NOT the music you’ll be hearing tonight, but now I have your attention, lets get on with the real sounds..”
But then, I’m an old fart, and am probably not even on the same planet any more..
