Not digitally signed

One of my friend having problem with internet.
According to him:
“it gives a 1394 connection, it doesn’t send and/or receive files, when I click repair it says failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection, and when I click properties->install->protocol->internet protocol there stands its not digitally signed”.
I have already told him about fireware, adapter settings, drivers. But nothing happened.
Any suggestion?

May be You need to roll back your network adapter driver to the one that used to work.
Answer #2
Sounds like he doesn’t have his actual Ethernet (network card) drivers installed. The 1394 connection is from the Firewire port, and it’s not actually used for internet in normal cases. Only very rarely, you can for example connect 2 machines to each other with a Firewire cable, and set up them to use the 1394 connection for local network. But yes, really sounds like he is missing the Ethernet drivers, probably for his motherboard.

//edit: too slow
its not digitally signed
That’s not a problem as such.
Furthermore, “1394” does not refer to an ethernet connection but to FireWire. He is probably lacking the drivers for his network interface.
Ask him what his mainboard model is.

i installed another one, called microsoft lookback adapter. not working either. BUT one this one it says: limited or no connectivity. when I try to repair it says it failed with renewing ip. -.- when i was going to run-cmd-ipconfig/renew it gives an error that their is something with my dhcp. i tried everything, nothing seemed to work. and i NEVER had problems with internet before. just when i installed XP again. btw, while installing i did a quick format. And in the dhcp folder isnt any program.
