Nook Tablet hack

Has anyone had any luck hacking the new Nook Tablet? I am looking for resources / help.
Just bought one and am learning you have to pay for everything…. Including the apps which should be free.
So far I am not liking the new Nook Tablet.

you can side load apps. look into xda for rooting the device
