New Vista Skin to Help Performance

I am helping a friend with their vista laptop and its running pretty slow. I can turn off the visual effects but it looks pretty awful.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a skin I can use for Vista that looks nice/pretty/whatever but will help the performance as it doesnt have to load up Vista’s Aero madness?

whats shameless? Well simple disable the Aero. If you use those “deck” tools it aint gonna make it faster. So id disable it and then just choose a baground and a colour for the theme. . . . disableing the Aero only takes of the “see through” of the windows and small stuff like that. But wont gain you much performance. . . Cause really. . . it doesnt take that much.
