New to RapidShare – Used to MegaUpload

August 2nd, 2016

I’ve just purchased myself 3 months of premium RapidShare, after only ever using MegaUpload. I liked MU because of the unlimited downloads, and i wouldn’t change to RS, even though its the more popular file hosting site, because i was told RS has daily download limits. i was then looking at there site and it said “Unlimited” so i decided to try it, and now when i go to my premium homepage, it says i have “traffic left” and its 10GB, and going down already. That doesn’t sound very unlimited to me, i defiantly go over 10GB on some downloads, does this mean ill have to wait days to get them? There are other days when i dont use it at all, will i lose those 10GB’s worth of downloads? This seams unfair.
Also, MU’s MegaManager looks much nicer than RS’s RSM, and RSM hasn’t seen an update since 2007? is there anything better out there for downloading with RS?
Sorry for the long post, im just curious how my money has been spent lol.
Thanks for the help.

on RS u get 5GB a day and it accumulates to a max of 25GB. Thats what u were asking, right? =p And to download from RS use IDM =p Beats anything else IMO
Answer #2
like posted above, i also try and download during the night thus you dont use as much of your own traffic as premium members get to use up rs left over traffic.
i have also used both mu and rs and to be honest i do prefer rs
as for downloading i use jdownloader and wont use anything else. and i have tried them all

So if i dont use my allocated daily allowance, it gets added to my next days allowance? And thanks ill try both IDM (which i use for normally downloads already anyway) and jdownloader.
Answer #4
well for instance if you have 25gig from a fresh and you use it all. you are given 5gig a day untill it again reaches 25gig.
i use the below method quite often and ive never used up my full 25gig a month and i do alot of full dvd’s
from rs site.
HappyHours for Premium customers
March 19, 2009
We will now implement HappyHours for our Premium customers, so you can use our infrastructure in the best possible way. Currently, the HappyHours will be active from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Central European Time since that is the only time during which there is unused bandwidth left. During that time, only 10% of the data volume you download will be charged to your traffic balance. So if you download 300 Megabytes during HappyHours, only 30 Megabytes will be accounted. This applies also if you use RapidPoints or TrafficShare for your downloads. The amount of unused traffic that can be accumulated has been raised from 12 Gigabytes to 15 Gigabytes. Please note that this has to be regarded as a test, and we can reverse the modifications or change the time and percentage rate of the HappyHours at any time if neccessary.

Yes, I’m taking full advantage of the happy hours right now. Thank you for tell me they exist, it wasn’t really made clear in the buying process that such hours existed.
