New to Mac

Hey folks, just converted over to Mac from PC, & I am totally confused about the “learning curve”. I’ve been downloading programs & all I see after I open it up is a blank sheet. What am I doing wrong. By the way I did mange to get an iZip Viewer. Thanks in advance.

Are they dmg files? Should be able to double click on them. How’s that work I always used unRARx

thanks for the reply, yes they are dmg files. I double click on the files & it opens up a new folder with other files. I keep doing this & nothing happens. As for as the iZip viewer goes, it was one of the few programs that I open, but it seems to work ok for me. Thanks again!

how bout use trans mac. it has more features.just my opinion

apparently, mac is not very intuitive, it SHOULD ask you what to do maybe you’ll get that if you do an alternate click on the file

Thanks for the help. I’m trying to open a program file posted by Mojado…it’s the Adobe photoshop cs. Also , mac is not asking me what to do. Thanks

hmm usually when you double click the dmg you’ll just see the actuall app inside and you double click on it to install and usually have you click/drag it to your application folder…
