NEW Gaming rig help. Quick question.

So yeh, I have an old pentium 4 still, considering building a new rig. Just a quick and easy question. Would the e8400 last me a year at least? I’ll probably overclock but not to an extreme since I’ll only be using air cooling.
But yeh, an E8400, ati 4850 and 4gb ram, would it last and be able to play new games that come out over the next year?

yeah it should do pretty well, i don’t think you will be looking at playing games such as Crysis on high settings though, perhaps medium/high. You’re not going to be guarenteed to be able to play some new games on highest settings anyway – put it that way

I think so, I used it and I’m pretty happy and set for about 2 to 3 years still…
