Need some help with my old ipod (not showing in itunes)

its been a while since i used this ipod and its on iOS 3.1.3
im trying to connect it to itunes but nothing is showing, when i plug in PC it just shows as a storage device
can anyone help?
not showing up when put in recovery mode either
Try using a different USB port, try it on a different computer
Or try Googling the problem
