Answer #1
TS = transport stream
get “mediainfo” and see what codecs the file uses

Answer #2
thanks for the response i can get it to play fine with vlc player was just wondering how to get rid of the ad breaks and weather i should convert to another format
Answer #3
There are many programs you can use to remove the ads. VideoRedo, VirtualDubMod, MeGUI. Plus MeGUI will allow you to compress the video to a more manageable size.
Answer #4
You can convert it after editing with Freemake Video Converter, to a more manageable file (.avi or .mkv whatever)

Answer #5
TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5.0.6.38 can easily cut out the ads and then convert it to H.264/AVC (the best quality/compression) or any other format you want.
Answer #6
Is it even worth you time to cap, edit, encode, and upload said video when it’s probably already available elsewhere?
Answer #7
You have to convert it, resize it and remove the none programme stuff or everyone will complain. The ts filesize will be too large to upload and very few people would download it.
either Mpeg4 ASP XVid or H.264 mkv are the popular formats. The format stored in the transport stream is important as it might slow down the decoding if it’s H.264. Mpeg2 is a lot quicker/easier to decode. MediaInfo will show details of the ts file.
VideoRedo is the best for correcting sync problems. V3 for Mpeg2 or V4 for H.264/Mpeg2. V3 is still best for Mpeg2, however.

He can encode it to a resolution/filesize that hasn’t been done. A source ts is much better than any re-encode of scene material. However he does need to get it right and that will take some practice.

thanks for the advise guys i had a go with videoredo last night and it seemed to work well will try a few uploads to see how well they go down and take it from there
Answer #9
You will still need to encode them. I wouldn’t rely on VideoRedo to do that. Just cut anything needed and check sync and then encode it using x264 or Xvid.
