and amd processor Phenom II x4 965 black edition from here

my doubt is that in the mother board specification, it was said that it recognize only 3 Gb of DDR-2 RAM while installing win7 32 bit OS. is there any solution to install 4 Gb RAM with win7 32 bit OS ? or i install win7 64 bit OS (i hate 64 bit OS becoz of incompatible with some old games and apps)
or i chose another board ?
i chosen this board because it got in-built graphics. i am not a gamer so i dont need external gfx-card.
This has nothing to do with the motherboard, It’s an OS limitation!
32bit windows can only recognize up to 3.5GB of RAM, It’d work with more, But it
wouldn’t fully recognize it. So yes, You would be best installing a 64bit version of Win7.
Set that aside, If I were you, I’d go with an Intel i3 3220 build instead. It’ll be a little
pricier (especially since your gonna need to buy DDR3 ram) and it’s 2 cores vs 4, But
hey, It performs just as good (even a little better) and it got hyperthreading, Plus, Socket 1155
is much more future proof (upgrades wise)
Definitely go with the Intel system. Also, DDR3 is much cheaper than DDR2 =D

Yeah I know. I didn’t mean it like that tho, I made the above remark because I thought
he already has DDR2 sticks which he plans on using. But I have no confirmation, It’s
just a hunch. He didn’t mention anything about buying new RAM, Plus there are plenty
of AM3 boards with DDR3 support, Yet he picked a DDR2 one.
at last i bought these things
1) Asus M5A78 MLX PLUS mobo
2) Amd fx6100 (6 core @ 3.3 Ghz , 12 Mb L2 Cache, Overclock upto 4 Ghz
3) 8 Gb DDR-3 Transcend Ram @ 1333 Mhz (one stick)
4) LG 24x Dual Layer RW
5) Cabinet having 2 inbuilt fans for more cooling
so now if you want more than 3gb ram to be recognized you are still going to have to run a 64 bit os.
i am running win7 x64 updated jan2013 murphy release from TPB
why 1 stick of 8gb ram, why not better x2 4gb ones oO
2 sticks of ram can run faster in dual chan..
Could always add another stick the same.
i knew that thing but 1 stick price is little less
congrats. Good built.
