My 2 Day Old Laptop everything messed up Please help..
August 5th, 2016
It has one key Rescue system button, it restores system to factory default.
Everything was fine,
The system came with 2 partitions one C: which had 187 G, in which windows 7 was installed. other D: which had 40gb it was empty had 600mbs of drivers folder.
the system had 2 more partions which are hidden, for Os recovery purpose.
I thaught of making 2 more partions by removing free space from C drive. I shrinked 100 GB using built in diskmanagement tool of windows 7. it shrunk and created 100 GB of unallocated space, while creating new simple partion it was giving an error message as “cannot create, maximum partitions are already created”..
So i googled a lot and found the solution. i downloaded paragon partition magic and installed it, it did my job easily. without any problem i created 2 new partions of 50 GB each, drive E: and F:, it created successfully and now i could see 4 partions in my computer, C, D, E and F.. and copyed many music files and movies to that drives, i worked few hours and i shut down my lap and wen to bed,
when i got up in the morning and i switched it on, its not booting, it shows full blank screen which shows only “_” mark in the top left corner of the screen. when i switch on it shows lenovo logo and and to enter bios f2 and to select boot menu f12 screen thats it and then it completes goes black not booting.. i tryed many times but no success.
I can go to bios, i went there loaded default values then also no where it booted.
Then i thaught of one key Rescue system button, and pressed it it started but it did not launch the Rescue system software instead it launched CMD window
with an line
x:/windows/system32/
and thats it if i close that window it exits and restarts and again old story of black screen.
I am really fed off i need to take my laptop to college tommorow,
So please guys anyone provide an solution to recover my OS to factory default, i dont mind for files dleted.
Just show me the way to restore my sytem to factory defaults using one key Rescue system button.
Hi,
it’s because you messed up your BOOT menu/loader. your laptop should have hopefully came with an OS cd for reinstalling Windows… install your OS on the drive letter F:\ or E:\ just make sure it’s big enough to support the OS, and one program.
*if you need help installing Windows on a drive letter, let me know.*
once you have Windows installed on a drive letter, and you’re at the Desktop and updates are done installing for your hardware to work correctly.. Open up IE, Google the program EASYBCD. download it, install it.
*DO THIS FIRST!* launch Easy BCD and on the left side of the program click Change Settings. once you clicked that, you should see Default OS: and a drop-down-box. click it, and it SHOULD! have an OS name.. if it does, it’s probably called Windows 7, or something like that. make it your default if it is. do the same for Entry Based settings… and make sure it’s set to whatever your MAIN files/Windows was on before the screw-up.. they’re always usually installed on C:\.. but yours might be different. click SAVE… REBOOT. you should boot up to C: again, hopefully.
IF THERE WASN’T AN OS NAME UNDER DEFAULT OS… FOLLOW THESE STEPS BELOW.
launch EasyBCD, and go to add/remove entries. go to the box Add Entry, then click type and select Windows Vista/Longhorn. Call it Windows 7/Windows Seven, doesn’t matter… and make it WHATEVER your MAIN OS with your Windows files was on.. it’s usually always default C:\.. So set it to C:\. and click ADD ENTRY. THEN
on the left side of the program click Change Settings. once you clicked that, you should see Default OS: and a drop-down-box. click it, and it SHOULD! have an OS name.. if it does, it’s probably called Windows 7, or something like that. make it your default if it is. do the same for Entry Based settings… and make sure it’s set to whatever your MAIN files/Windows was on before the screw-up.. they’re always usually installed on C:\.. but yours might be different. click SAVE… REBOOT. you should boot up to C: again, hopefully.
good luck, reply with any problems.
Thank you

Not a problem, I’ll be on hopefully until around 3PM Eastern time. So I should be here to help.
Ok i got my new OS running i installed that in E: drive, but i am not able to run my old OS,
now my new os is in c drive and old one is in d: drive,
how would i make it to dual boot means i should see 2 options in boot menu
I tried add/remove entries in easy bcd but cant find it to work it boots directly to new os

I think windows Se7en may not allow you to do so……
your older os won’t work now………
(As far as my knowledge is concerned)
