Mouse Probs

August 8th, 2016

Hi this problem is fixed but I thought I would ask how use would deal with it considering how long it took me to fix.
I use a razor nagga, and pretty much the movement of the mouse stopped working. Due to the last 2 razors ive had having the same problem I went and managed to get the shop I bought It from to replace it. (It was 4 months out of warranty but the darl behind the counter gave me a replacement any way!).
I took it home and it wouldnt move either so obviously it was a software problem. I couldnt find a mouse around the house (no pun), and had to play around with the problem with just the keyboard. Firstly I researched what the problem may have been and then downloaded the program, and then deleted and reinstalled everything just using the keyboard. Quite simply it took me like an hour to do that, and with a mouse would have taken me 5 mins.. How would you go about solving the problem, and is there an easier way to just use the keyboard to navigate windows 7??

Normally, all mouses are plug in and play, meaning that they should function just by plugging it in
At the minimum, you will get a pop-up from windows signaling that the mouse has been detected
The software/drivers that the companies provide are just to allow for customization with various buttons customization, DPI, light settings, etc…
So since it doesn’t work just by plugging it in, it likely means that the mouse is dead on arrival I guess the lesson is to stay away from razer

If he gave you the exact same one as the one you bought, then it should have worked immediately as the drivers would have been exactly the same. If it didn’t (and it wasn’t a new mouse) it was defective.

Since I mentioned the problem was solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the device, after coming to the conclusion it was a software problem, my main concern is how to use windows with only a keyboard.
This would be my 3rd razor mouse which has died (given it was a software prob, may have not died and I was to lazy to do the steps I did after the second one previously) and my 4th one, each with the same problem. I dont believe/ or know of any other company producing mouses with side keys your thumb can use for mmo’s. Yes it is an annoyance, but needed given the number of keys needed to play advanced games which are being produced..

Possibly a software conflict ?
You tried it on another pc – or boot from a live linux cd and see what happens.
Answer #8
Try another mouse.
I hate Razor’s ~love~, them bloody thing always break on me.
Had a broken Razor Diamondback 3G, Razor Blackwidow, Razor Mamba. Them quality is shite. Worst was the Mamba, died in 3 months.
Logitech’s ~love~ was good, Steelseries was good as well.
Now I’m using the Corsair M65, its good ~love~ so far.
