Monitor/ Control fan speed – core temperature
October 5th, 2013
I have a hp laptop with a radeon graphics card if that helps..
msi afterburner will allow you to control your gpu fan speed
msi afterburner will allow you to control your gpu fan speed
on a laptop ?
on a lappy the fan is CPU & GPU and is controlled by the BIOS and not user adjustable
you want to slow it down or speed it up ?
Think it can be done with Speedfan

Tried it .. didn’t seem to work!
You can’t go wrong with HWMonitor.

Have you looked into your BIOS settings to see if you can turn your fan up?

here a good suggestion that won’t cost you as much maybe about $5 to $30
Notebook Coolers
here is a list of places you can get them

a notebook cooler can help
but it sounds like your fan/heatsink/cooling air duct may need cleaning out
there any removable panels on the bottom of the lappy to allow access to those
……
How about the OFFICIAL Catalyst Driver? Just go to Performance – Overdriver – Enable manual fan speed control.

it’s a pretty new lappy… It not even been 2 months…
@Dx-Generation-Dx — Good Idea…. Add to cart… Thanks a lot

The official catalyst drivers on my hp laptop[6140 tx] hardly lets one control anything.. the interface is completely different even though i’ve installed the latest catalyst 11.9 mobility drivers

sounds like the cooler is the way to go then
ATI’s and most video card fan control software is designed to control fans on video cards, not laptop fans that cool both the CPU & GPU

balkanno, you saying it does or does not give you fan control
Enable manual fan speed control.
think this only works on standalone video cards in a PC not on a laptop fan, unless you have a separate video card fan on your lappy
Well i didn t know that difference between ati drivers for notebooks nd desktop cards, sorry.
Well i didn t know that difference between ati drivers for notebooks nd desktop cards
drivers are basically the same but have diff functionality on lappy’s & towers
and normally those control apps are looking for the sweet spot between noise and cooling, they don’t improve cooling
sorry.
don’t be, you learn by asking
