master boot record

what do i need to restore the master boot record?
any help will be appreciated

pop in XP CD
boot from it
go to repair console (press R when asked)
then type
fixmbr
hit enter hope it’s that easy for you
you may need a file/partition restoring/undelete app to get files back if the above dun’t work
