LED Monitor-A vertical thin line mid screen?

August 7th, 2016

Just taking my monitor to the retailer due to the following issue, and wanted to ask you guys if this is fixable or not, coz if not, i don’t want his mediocre service to mess with it. if it is unfixable, i guess i’ll just sell it and get a new one. (thinking of getting a toshiba TV and use it as a monitor too)
So this happened to my Samsung Syncmaster s22b300 22″ LED monitor a while ago, and the warranty ends mid 2015, so I thought I should get it to the retailer in order to fix it or replace it (may be I will still pay in both cases)
I just figured out why it happened in the first place, as the graphics card was not fitted properly in its place, so it moved while the PC and monitor was on, so I don’t really know what happened. The graphics card still work, the monitor still works, but I cannot get rid of the this greenish line that reaches mid screen, and looks superficial more than being a pixel issue, it just looks above the pixels in real life!
so, what happened to the screen, is it fixable??
Thanks in advance

Have you tried it on a different computer to make sure it is the monitor faulty?
Otherwise a warranty repair…Let them sort it out..

@,
Thanks for replying.
I actually did change PCs and Cables, eventually I removed all cables and let it stay on with the “no input/signal” going around the screen. I could still see it in an angle or another….
I guess I will just get it to the service then… I just hope they don’t completely ruin it… (our service suck!)
Again, thanks for your reply .
Answer #3
Its a problem with the screen, pixels not lighting up, can they fix, likely, but it could be a new flat screen replacement
Answer #4
Yes agree, a faulty screen..
Should be no problems for a warranty replacement with that many pixels involved.
Answer #5
I am really hoping for a replacement, coz if they fix it, i am 100% sure it will either be in a worse case, or it will be in the very near future…
I just hope they do agree to replace it, as of mid year, the 3 years warranty is going to end…
I didn’t know the number of dead pixels matter to the warranty! Going next week to the shop, I’ll make sure to tell what happened.
thanks a lot guys for replying..
Answer #6
its not the number of pixels that are dead, but the fact that some of them are…most of the time screen is faster to replace.
Yea, i’m interested in how it works out.
Answer #7
The number of pixels does matter. Industry standard allows for some dead pixels. Unless the manufacturer specifies a guarentee of zero dead pixels. wich in this case it does not.
