KIS detects NIS as a Trojan?

October 30th, 2013

I just got a Norton Internet Security 2010 from the official website
When I scan it with Kaspersky, nothing is detected.
But when I run NIS installer (of course i know its not compatible) KIS suddenly detects it as a trojan WTF?
Any of you experienced this?
File Name: NIS10UPEN.exe

It will detect it as a trojan if your NIS is already infected.

Answer #6
false alarm!!! KIS detects it as a trojan,to prevent you from installing it on machine where KIS is THE ONLY av…Some companies put other av products on the list of known viruses to protect their own product from being uninstalled…That is a good way to get rid of competition…
Answer #7
first of all firewall/anti-virus vendors are competitive! so they are gunna make all the other soft look like False Positive’s
Answer #8
An anti virus always detects another anti virus as a trojan or virus
so keep only one Anti virus in ur system…
Answer #9
not always…but in most cases, yes… for example,Nod32 CAN be installed with,Avira,Avast,Comodo…and they will work together at the same time,on the same computer without any problems…but CAN’T be installed with Kaspersky…

Answer #12
Just run one antivirus at a time !!
Try to check the antivirus you downloaded (If its clean or not)
try
eset, kaspersky or trendmicro online scanners to scan your file that its infected or not
Answer #13
uninstall all av. ana install “avast”.This is best AV.
It will not give you false alarm…………
Answer #14
I don’t trust NIS ever since it missed a virus years ago that blew away all the partitions of my hard drive. It useless. Ever since I started used Kaspersky I never got a virus, trojan horse and whatnot, not one (as long the virus definitions are updated regularly).
Answer #15
dude just forget installing norton it’s crap stay with kaspersky
btw kaspersky internet secuirty 2012 v12.0.0.374 did not detect any viruses

.:iNFiLTRATOR:. replied: It will detect it as a trojan if your NIS is already infected. Many BAD security products ,again BAD!!! ,like norton & avast will detect out of their ass trojans & threats!
Install KIS 2012 update it & select deep scan in settings & scan = solved!
