Do you mean Notepad? If so I think AbiWord may be what you looking for. It should be installed already.

I’m not sure mate. I’m a linux noobie myself but as I understand it abiword is the equivelent of notepad. Your best bet is to search/ask on here: http://ubuntuforums.org/
I always had quick and concise replies to my queries on there…as I have on here too.
