Is my sub woofer messing up my lcd tv!
December 15th, 2013
Is it just me or is my tv just dying out?
Liquid crystals are sensitive to electric field changes, so try separating the TV from the speakers to see if the flickering stops.
Before you think its the Tv Try moving around your RCA/HDMI/Svideo Cable in place just move the cord it self around with it still plugged in. not to much tho unless it dose start flickering then it is just the Cords just replace those it should be fine then again it Could possibly be your sub just have to turn your Sub down(to much Sub ruins everything anyway)
THe Speakers could be affecting the LCD tv indeed because it may be too close to it

It looks like ther’s been some permanent damage! I tried using my TV speakers only and the tv still flickers…
o n yea patting the tv on the back seems to takes care of the flickering for a while.. i’ve stopped using my speakers for now.. I called the samsung tv rep and he just didn’t know what went wrong! He said that he’d have to change the entire panel.. which just sounded odd to me….. ++ he said that the repair ccost would be as much as a new tv itself… I guess im screwed!

I did that.. I even tried on a few new spare cables that I had… the screen would just keep on flickering and at times go red blue and green too !

ok then it’s dying out
I would start looking into returning the TV to the store you purchased it at, or through the manufacturer. Either way, your TV is probably going to get worse with time

Yes, it looks like there are dry joints or faulty components on one of the panels(circuit boards)…Which is normally fixed by swapping / replacing the relevant panel .
If it is not under warrantee, you could remove the back and check that cables between the various panels are plugged in tightly.
Also tapping the individual panels may pinpoint the fault..
I would not recommend putting any speakers or subwoofers near anything like a tv/monitor

It’s not under warranty. I bought it in December 2008. The guy from Samsung who came to take a look at it said that they have stopped manufacturing this model and are out of spare parts(typical of them)! as in they would have to change the entire panel which would cost me Rs. 18,000 [$350-$400] to fix it!
This sure does suck!
