Ipod touch next gen (2.1.1)

ive done some googling about jailbreaking a ipod and i saw you need to use a prog clled winscp or something so its easy to transport files over to your ipiod.
i have one problem whit this prog i cant find the ip of my ipod couse if i type my ip or gateway in explorer it doesnt show anything and yes i have a router for wireless conection. so pls can someone tell me if there is another way to see all the maps from my ipod for easy video/music/apps upload ?

WinSCP is the best way to do it really.
To find your IP, go to settings, click Wifi, click the little arrow next to your router name, and your IP is the first IP adress you see there.
Alternatively, you could try using iPhoneBrowser. Google it.
yeah i found that ip but it dont work when i enter in on the prog for some reason .

needs jailbreak right ? i dont have one yet i got 2.1.1 and on youtube people say there ar allot of problems and that i should w8.
You can’t break 2nd gen touches, and therefore they can’t be accessed with WinSCP.

jailbreaking is risky i used to jailbreak, now i have latest fireware and im installing just free apps with itunes , its good to be sure … just my opinion

1. jailbreaking isn’t risky, it has never failed me and i have jailbroken about 25 ipod touches or so, all on 2.0+ firmware
2. To SSH via WinSCP you must have downloaded OpenSSH from Cydia (app you get after you jailbreak)
3. Your iPod and computer must be running off the same network
4. YOU CANT JAILBREAK 2ND GEN IPOD TOUCH’S YET, AND THOSE ARE THE ONLY DEVICES CURRENTLY RUNNING 2.1.1
yea ,specially the downgrading ,updating and reading tutorials on everythin , and yea it is risky,at least there is small risk everytime , and if it will fail , its not so great to go for an help into apple , and they will find out that u were trying to jailbreak.but hey , its just my opinion
