iPhone wireless problem

August 1st, 2016

Hi, my mate has recently bought an iPhone from Vodafone. So do I. Then weve jailbroken then with the same patch, etc. (he did jailbreak first then sent the files to me) Now he is having problems with wireless connection, but for me its working. iPhone is 100% official, bought from Vodafone. Jailbreak was done with same files but my phone was not affected, so theres probably no problem with jb. He did a full restore then jb again, but still no change. Where else could the problem be?
Thanks in advance for help.

Answer #1
whats the actual problem?
like is it connecting then dropping out? or is it no connecting at all?
Answer #2
It will discover all networks, but when trying to connect, itll write Connecting, then immediately Connection failed. But it will discover network and WifiTrak shows info.
Answer #3
Does the internet connection work when he does a full restore?
Answer #4
internet is working only WiFi not. After restore he did jb again.
Answer #5
so its the wifi that isn’t working?
it’s very rare that the iphone is at fault in this sort of situation, make sure the passcode is correct, make sure there isn’t a HTTP proxy or anything set up on the wifi menu if there doesn’t need to be.
to be sure, tell him to restore and NOT jailbreak it – then try the wifi. If it works, then there’s something wrong with the jb
Answer #6
Okay. We are not trying it on secure networks. Only in KFC, etc. where it’s for free. I will connect immediately with my phone, but he doesn’t. We will try it without jb tommorow.
Answer #7
all else being equal, as you described (same jb same place same phone), it may be a hardware problem!
Answer #8
Yes we think that it may be a hardware problem, because only difference between our phones is the memory, he has 8GB, me 16GB. But he don’t want to claim it, because he did a JB and is afraid they won’t accept it, or they will, but let him pay for it.
Answer #9
if you do a full restore and dont jailbreak it apple cannot tell that you’ve jailbroken it – so restore it and they’ll accept it for sure
Answer #10
What is a full restore? Normally in iTunes right-clicking on iPhone icon and selectign Restore? Someone said something about DFU mode (or something like it) in which must be this step performed, so I don’t know.
Answer #11
I’m unsure as to which method of restoring wipes any records of a jailbreak.
I think the safest option is to use DFU mode, then restore it – to make sure all jailbreak evidence is gone. Assuming you can’t get it fixed of course
