iPhone 2G Won’t Turn on :(

At first the phone was working fine, then all of a sudden it shuts off.
I tried to turn it back on and it’s not working…
It will go up to the apple logo and then it just goes black again.
Any fixes?
Update: Allowed the phone 10 minutes to recharge using the USB cable to my laptop, iTunes did not recognize the phone, nor did it change anything.
Outcome is still the same, goes up to Apple Logo, then dies.
Update 2: Using an outlet charger for the phone, I see that it lights up and goes to the apple screen but then turns off when I first put it in.. currently waiting for the 10minutes to come ;(

why not reinstall the firmware mate. i mean using the DFU mode

when u turn on the phone press and hold the home button until you get the itunes logo then restore the firmware if that dont work then go to youtube and see how to put the iphone in DFU mode then restore the firmware that way its the firmware so dont panic because this happened to me at least twice and im using my iphone right now so dont stress
