August 24th, 2013

So, is it necessary if I want to import an ePUB file from this forum via iTunes onto the iPad?

Nope…
iBooks and iTunes will do the job!

That’s great, thanks. I don’t like to jailbreak for security reasons.

Agree to wo_Ot.Actually its the jailbreaks that make ios much more secure. How?Think about it
Answer #5
and how can you be sure then you don’t get malware on your device? iOS actually offers a pretty good protection if you don’t manipulate it.

Because there are NO viruses for iOS!
Damn, people are too much paranoid!
Answer #7
The only negative to jailbreak is people who overload their phones/pads with background features. Other than that, it’s a no-brainer! Most of the cool features that iphones come with are the result of the awesomeness of the jailbreak community

Why are you so paranoid?! Millions of people use iDevices with jailbreak and did you heard someone complaining about it?! You are the first….
Everything is OK and no need to worry!
I myself would never use iPhone (or any iDevice) without JB!

1. Download iBooks on your iDevice
2. Download epub files and move ’em to iTunes in iBooks sections

don’t get me wrong. I agree that jailbreaking is a great thing. But a lot of people also said Macintosh was safe from any malware, and it’s not. there are viruses for Macintosh. and this could be the same with iOS.
Nevertheless, I’m also thinking about jailbreaking my iPad 2 with iOS 5.0.1, although it’s not yet possible.

I think alot of the audio books on here are just mp3 format so you can play them on different devices and not just iOS ones. So they will just show up as mp3 in your ‘music’ app on the ipad.
There are a few in the ‘audio books’ section in M4B format which you can sync through iTunes and they will show up in ‘more’ section when you click ‘music’ or ‘ipod’ on your iOS device under audiobooks. Think the only difference is that they have the odd picture that shows up as the file plays like a podcast does, pretty pointless really as the device turns off the screen when you are listening to them anyways

Well you don’t need to worry… Because I doubt that you have some TOP SECRET data on your iDevice so that you need to worry!
Cheers!
