IP address Conflict ERROR!
March 4th, 2014
I keep getting error: “There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network”
How can I solve it???????
And 1 more thing i am not using any LAN or any kind of interconnected PCs.
Plz Describe it crystal clear on how to solve this problem……..
Thnx in advance……………………………………
You are connected to the internet, aren’t you? That means you have to have an IP address (unless you are talking about another computer than the one you are using to post here).
I am assuming you are running windows here…
Anyway, open up a command prompt (Win-R, type cmd in the box)
Then, type ipconfig /all and hit enter.
There should be a line like this:
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
If not then switch your computer to DHCP unless you have some special network setup.
There should also be lines that say (your numbers probably are different):
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 208.67.220.220
208.67.222.222
Or something like that. If they all have data in them, you should be good to go.
Another good idea is to renew your IP address. To do this type ipconfig /renew. If that doesn’t work try ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew
im having the same problem, how to i switch DHCP TO enabled?
in XP….
Start->My Network Places-> View network connections
Find the connection you are using (wireless/wired)
Right click on Connection-> Properties-> (highlight) Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)-> Properties
Select the radio button that says “Obtain an IP address automatically”
This enables DHCP and not static IP. Does this help? edit your title with [Solved] if so. Good luck!
I have same problem some times ….
use cmd with some simple IP commands or check in your router that should allow you to
IP address conflict could mean that one of your devices or your neighbour’s device has used
the same ip address as your computer…
if you are using wifi … someone is stealing your wifi…
select the ones that the arrows pointing to, don’t select the ones i’m selecting then click ok then close and make sure ‘Enable DHCP Server’ is selected on the router configurations.
