Installing ubuntu 11.10
July 28th, 2013
I’ve tried to install ubuntu for the first time. I downloaded it from ubuntu-website so I know for sure that it’s the right one… So it installed without any problems but when restarting my system it got stuck with this error message
udevadm settle - timeout of 120 seconds reached
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0 (1200)
I’m currently running
Windows 7 64bit
i7
6GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M
At the risk of pointing out the obvious, you would be better off asking this on the ubuntu forums. I doubt if even 5% of members reding this have used ubuntu.
If its your first time using Linux chuck ubuntu out and download LinuxMint, much more user friendly, similar look to windows but with the security of Linux and easy to setup
linuxmint is much better than ubuntu and the community is just as strong, also it shares the same kernal,
as for your problem i cannot help you sorry(never had a problem with linux install or config)
The ubuntu forum would no doubt know exactly what to do tho
Did you even get to the grub menu, or the error comes before it?
what is the grub menu?
I get the error at the very beginning(it only gives the me the choice between windows 7 or ubuntu and after I pick ubuntu it gives me the error)
Looked all over ubuntuforum… couldn’t find an answer and nobody answered my post :s
I have not used Ubuntu but why not get yourself onto #Ubuntu for support?
