How to hardsub subtitles into a video?

I have some movies and their subtitles. Now i want to convert .avi to a dvd format after adding subs to it so that my DVD player can play it. Can u tell me a good software that adds subtitles in 2-3 min. AviRecomp takes 1 Hr.

Hello for the convertissor use total video converter and just put the subtitle into the video and that’s it!
