How to format HDD without CD/DVD-drive?

Ok, my problem is, my dvd drive is not working for a very long time, it’s presumed dead. So i want to format my computer and install a fresh new Xp Sp3 found here. How do i do that? I have 2HDD, one is for system(windowsxp), the other is a partition of some sort of file recovery disk for my laptop, i don’t know. Here’s some pictures. I don’t have an external cd-drive, if i have, i would’nt be here now would i. Thank you.

The problem is even if you manage to format how you going to reinstall XP without CD/DVD Rom Drive..
Do you have a floppy drive or a USB Pen?

Check bios options. If you have option “boot from USB” do that

well your gonna have a hard time to keep a permanant version of xp. Use the portable USB version of xp first, then when you can get a burner make a bootable disc

Pendrive? Sure, will external harddrive do? Then do i transfer the iso to the pendrive or do i extract all the files inside the cd to the pendrive, then boot from usb?

um………there is a USB version of windows xp thats 60 mb but it doesnt really work. i’m not sure if it would work with iso ———–> usb drive —->install try it out and let us know
