Remember, your motherboard may support better memory than is currently in your computer. If you are planning an upgrade, make sure you look up your motherboard online like I recommended. Chances are you only have 2 ram slots, which will both be occupied (cuz of DDR). Either way, you want to occupy 2 or 4 slots of memory, with identical sticks. So if you are adding on to what you currently have, you need to get identical ram.

I always thought it was backward compatible!! e.g. 2 x 2.6 and 2 x 3.0 in the slots, all would run as 2.6 ??????
