How do I torrent safely ?

With the recent updates to rapishare etc everyone knows that Filehost business is really becoming unbearable for many free users like me . I dont like their slow speeds and forced ads , i prefer typing a captcha and waiting 30 seconds like it was back in the good old days with good speeds. Ive sticked to filehosts for along time becuase I know they were safer than torrents ( no notices from filehosts ) .
I hear from people that torrents are risky business , but still millions on people use them .
So I know many people use torrents here in WBB , but i just want to know how do i use it safely so i dont get caught (free solutions) . i already got uTorrent and foound torrent links at http://thepiratebay.se
Are there any safer places because i hear about this site alot on the news ..

Firstly as you are a beginner to torrents, i will advice you to avoid using public torrents!…….With public torrent sites such as Pirate Bay are prone to more viruses and fake content, they are monitored by MPAA who can trace your ip address and send you notice, they have slow speed due to not enough seeders and in general suffer from downtime etc……
With Private torrent sites, these are sites that have a strictly controlled or defined membership base, limiting it’s numbers to invite or infrequent registration only. The reasoning behind this is to both prevent intrusion by the powers that be, i.e. RIAA, MPAA, FBI, OPP, THC, etc., etc…. Also private torrent site have quality control, and scan for harmful files and regulate content. One of the factors that lead to safer communities in private torrent sites is requiring members to maintain a certain ratio. A torrent ratio is simply the amount of data you upload (share) compared to the amount of data you download (leech). By making users share they are able to maintain incredibly fast download speeds when compared to public sites.

The best way to dl torrents safely even from public trackers is to use a seedbox from a provider with a good privacy policy.

Get a seedbox and use SFTP when transferring data to your pc.

Only use OpenVPN, not PPTP (including L2TP & SSTP) as when you are disconnecting it will show your IP

use private trackers as suggested by …Iptorrents is a good site and you will get invites from here by searching around or requesting someone…personally i have been using torrents for about 10years now and i have stick to iptorrents and it has never let me down…cheers
