How do I put a .rar file on my Kindle?

Hi, this is my first post. I’ve tried all over but don’t seem to be able to find an answer.
I’ve just downloaded a .rar document full of Tess Gerritsen books and I can’t put it straight on my Kindle because it won’t show up, but I don’t know what format to change it to as I’m not given an option for e-book on my converter when I put the file name in
I don’t want to sound like a complete numpty, but I was recommended here by a friend, but can’t get hold of them for answers either!
Any help would be gratefully received!

You need to extract the files from the .rar file you will need either winrar or 7zip on your pc to do this,you can get 7zip herehttp://7-zip.org/
