Once you have softmodded your wii. Do not ever do an update via the Wii. If you do, you could possible brick your Wii (which means goodbye wii system). Only update using bootmii.

So if i softmod it i can just download games, put it on the sd card and just play it like that?
Answer #3
yes, you can. But you might want to use a usbloader like usbloadergx or uloader. I’d recommend using a usb stick due to games being 4+gb. 1gb if scrubbed down.
You use wbfs manager to load games onto your usb or sd card.
I have a 80gb harddrive that I use to store my games on.
Answer #4
It can be done that with a SD card, but most folks burn to a DVD or use a USB harddrive. You could also use a USB stick.
But the relative storage capacity of a SD card or USB stick is poor per dollar.
Answer #5
, surf around the wiihacks forum and see what they have to offer. They have a butt load of tutorials for people who want to try stuff on their wii. Like i stated before avoid using an sd card. They are super slow compared to a cd or usb.
For optimal speed on loading a game
sd<cd<usb<external hd.
