Have problems with Xperia Mini. HELP!

July 28th, 2013

Hello people.
What’s my problem:
I own a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini St15i and today when i plugged it in my USB it said there was a new software update. I have accepted it and it passed without any problems. BUT after i turned my phone on and my friend sent me a SMS msg it wasnt stored on my messages anymore, there is just last message before u updated my phone. I checked if i have memory, coz i thought i was out of it, but there was 98 MB left on phone memory still. Then i asked my brother to send me SMS to check if it is working with him, but still it was same problem, message wasn’t stored -_-
I triend turning off my phone, then turn on, removing battery, but nothing sloved that bug, and that happend just after i updated it, so it’s some software bug. My brother has same phone as me but he didnt have any problems after update tho, and he got his update 15 days ago, and i got it today, i dunno why i had to wait that much for my update. Anyway i plugged USB on my phone and went in Sony Ericsson PC Companion and click “Repair” software. It said all contacts, msgs, and some more things will be “overwriten”, then i went in settings to move all my applications to SD card coz i thought i could will still have them on my phone after Repair, coz it’s memory card, not phone memory.
After it “repaired” the software i lost EVERYTHING, ALL applications even after i moved them to my SD card, and now when i browse my memory card i dont see where that applications are, i checked all folders but there are none of them! And what’s weird it says that i have only 140 MB free on my card, even if it is 2 GB of total memory, and when i select all files on it it says total used space is 750 MB, so where is the rest of the space? I guess it is in backuped apps but i cant find them, anywhere. I thought they will still be there after repair coz it said only files from phone memory will be “overwriten”
SMS is working like it should now tho.
Any help please? I will destroy it, im totaly mad now coz i guess i have to install all applications again.
My phone isnt rooted btw.
Kind regards!

Answer #1
Well if backup was enabled then you’ll be able to download most of the stuff from the google servers. as for apps, you shouldn’t woryy if they were free ‘cus the data is saved on the servers as well.
Answer #2
I had problems with mine, did you use backup and restore?
Answer #3
I went in settings -> applications > manage applications and moved all applications that were not on my memory card to it, but now i dont have any applications installed, i just still have photos and videos from memory card.
Edit:
Still i dont how why it says i have only 141 MB free on my memory card? It is 2 gb of total size and when i select all files on it and go in properties to check for size it says “750 MB” used.
So 2 GB – 750 MB = around 1,25 GB, but it says i only have 141 MB free -_-
