GTA IV too slow!Urgent help needed!

What are your hardware specs? And what OS are you running? (windows version) also one more thing what programs do you normally have running in the background on your PC? (anti-viruses etc.)
p.s do you defrag your hard drive often?
I thought we had this discussion? There aren’t any applications which can improve your computer to the extent of making a game run faster. Possibly game accelerator may increase your FPS only by a few but upgrading hardware is the only way to dramatically increase your frames per second. What are your specs?

This, also GTA 4 for PC is a bad port game, which means it’s horrible performance no matter how good your hardware is. But generally if you’re getting crap fps now the only things you can do is:
upgrade hardware
switch to XP (for a 5-10fps boost)
tune your PC (get down to like 14 processes on a fresh startup on XP)
Reduce your settings.

GameBooster is nice, It DOES help, i’ve used it before but there is no permanent solution that will require minimal effort.
Please give the names of some softwares because its too slow friends…
defrag your drive empty some data if its nearlly full, defrag ram and then try it again,, and yes try gamebooster it gives a subtle effect.
if you have downloaded a cracked game then download a different copy your game might be bad.
I have got original game.I defraged all the disks.Then also no use….
No use. Maybe you dont have enough specs. Check the minimum system requirements
Yeah i can play at highest but it is having less FPS like 7-11 etc.And i have XFX NVIDIA GEFORCE 8500GT(1GB)with turbocache.
That’s not a good graphics Card, although GTA 4 is not as GPU hungry….
What processor do you have?
Processor=AMD SEMPRON 2800+.(please dont say to upgrade it or to throw it away)please give a software which can make it fast.I have gamebooster which is nice one!Any other?
Game booster and all just clear the RAM and stuff. If your PC configs are low, they cant do anything. Sorry mate
You don’t want us to tell you to update your hardware and you demand us to give you a magical software to make the game work. Get all the settings down to 0, or none. If you still lag, then the game is not for you.

sorry to say but u need to up….. smash your pc and buy some replacement parts honestly thou from the sounds of your specs you really do need to upgrade it you could try installing patches for gta4 update your drivers and defrag like others have suggested but thats not gonna give you a big performance boost
You cant do anything mate. No softwares will work. You have to upgrade your PC. I know its not easy, but there isnt anything you can do about it
try the new nvidia drivers- 185.85 WHQL certified! maybe they’ll help
i think you should have enough vram [i mean good video card]
to check your vram,
start>
run>
enter:dxdiag>
enter>
a windows comes.
display>
see “Appx. Total Memory”
and see if it saticifies the min required for gta 4

There is no software which can make so much of a difference, really. Just upgrade to a new system.

he said he bought it… anyways, if you havent listened be4, upgrade your system. dont want to? dont complain about the game running slow. it runs slow because your system doesnt handle it well / barely meets the requirements to play the game.
you meet the requirements? yes, barely.. so your BARELY able to play the game..
