Getting audio into movie

September 7th, 2013

I recently downloaded 3 movies where the movie doesn’t have any audio in it but instead has 3 .ac3 files with it. I was wondering how I would go about putting the audio in.
Answer #1
try AVIsemux
open the file in it and select the AC3 file thro the “audio” menu
Answer #2
What type of video containers do the Movies have? MKV, avi etc
I would be very surprised to see Movies with separate audio files, that is not something that is usually done. Try MediaInfo and see what it shows for the Movie. It’s possible that you are missing a codec so the audio doesn’t play.

Oh thank God. That worked.

MKV. It only had the video and no audio. MediaInfo didn’t show anything under “audio codec” tho. If you’re curious tho.. here’s all the info MediaInfo showed me

I’m surprised to see that because it doesn’t make much sense to upload a video with no included audio.
If you open the MKV using MKVMerge GUI which is part of the MKVToolnix package you can add the audio using that and save it out under a new name.
