Firefox search bar doesn’t work
August 4th, 2016
The search bar on firefox with google engine doesn’t work. And it’s the same with Chrome.
If I try to go to Google.pt for example, log in with my account and made a search, it works but redirect to Google.com and the login disappear.
Could anyone help me please?
Thanks
Had a problem with my Daughter’s computer in that it would not go to Google.
Turned off the power on the modem/router for a minute or two and that fixed it !!
Other things to try is clearing History, Cache, Cookies and flushing DNS.
DNS jumper can flush DNS and also let you try other DNS servers.

Did you look in Tools> Options> Search in Firefox to see if anything has changed? If the settings are blanked out it wouldn’t know which engine to use. Is it possible you installed something that attempted to redirect your searches. That would explain why both are affected. Even freeware these days come with little addons hidden by default. That’s why I always choose the custom install option because the extra crap is usually hidden in the Express (recommended) installation.
