What version of Firefox do you have? Firefox 3.0.2 has a bug that causes it to forget passwords. This was fixed in FF 3.0.3. If you don’t have 3.0.3, get it. To update from a 3.XX version, go to “Help -> Check for Updates” in the menu so you don’t have to do a re-install.
