Find info about a company (Whois) etc

July 24th, 2013

Hey,
I need some useful tools & techniques to find out information about companies, Who they’re how much they turn over, who they deal with just some general information. I won’t say to much encase of web clipping etc but I’ve heard of websites like who is but recently found them to be hit or miss and really unreliable. Please link me to some good ones.
It’s a uk based manufacturing company who are licensed to manufacture a well known designer brand. I have put in a complaint and they’re offering to assist by either dropping the clothing into the store or mailing it through the post.. the clothing’s pretty expensive but not only that I feel they only seek to humor me and will probably say it’s fine.. fob me off etc

whois is for websites and i dont think its what your after
im in australia , all i would do is go and do an abn (Australian business number ) lookup to start with , then find out if they are a private or public company , most companies have to provide a profit and loss statement that is available to the public ( not all but most ) and the chances of finding out who the company deals with is very remote , its basically none of your business , but you can narrow it down but its damn hard and no one will tell you this info for free
i dont know how the uk works or even where you are in the world you are but if your close to this store , the best thing i can say is go and look at the boxes the items come in , not retail packaging but the carton lots they come in – its usually written on the box
as they are the manufacturer and not the retailer you have no comeback on them at all , as i think your statement said you are dealing with a shop not the manufacturer
Who a company deals with is Private and will stay that way untill the said company decides to tell you
